![]() Oh, and Spike's reaction to her story is just perfect. This week our resident pony expert Jon Baley of Gumbie Cat Networks returns to talk about what is one of the most beautiful episodes of this show we’ve ever seen. I'd question why it's not still part of Luna's dreams too, but she never truly goes back to sleep during the incident. Now all of their dreams will be filled with nightmares until it can be defeated. That one mistaken letter changes the most monster from punisher to punished, yet it would still kind of make sense given the situation.Īs it turns out, the Tantabus invaded the mane six's dreams after learning about them from Luna's nightmare. In Greek mythology, Tantalus was a man who was given severe punishment in the Underworld, trapped in a clean lake with a fruit tree above him, but unable to eat or drink from them. Fun fact: when I first watched this, I though it was called the Tantalus, and you'd be surprised how much difference that makes. It's here that she gives the wisp monster a name: the Tantabus. Turns out Luna was already on it, though, as she storms into Carousel Boutique immediately after the letter is sent. After she challenges the thing, it shines a dark light that turns her back into Nightmare Moon. ![]() Anyway, at the end of the hall is Luna, talking to this strange dark wisp. We start with the mane six running through what appear to be the halls of the Castle of the Two Sisters, which I like to call the Ruined Castle because the real name is too dang long. ![]() Still, that was a while ago, and my thoughts might have changed with time and hindsight. I remember liking it a lot when I first watched it, but I watched Firebrand's supplement video, and frankly, he's not wrong. Depending on who you ask, this was either the best Luna episode before A Royal Problem, or absolute character assassination for the blue princess. This was controversial from the day it aired, basically splitting the fan base down the middle. I'll be setting up a second poll after this, but for now, we have an episode to review.Īnd I am not surprised in the slightest this episode won. As of the time I'm writing this paragraph, it still has four hours left, but I highly doubt the runner up is going to overtake it in four short hours. So, as I mentioned in my last review, DPDOMS won that review poll I made by a landslide. ![]()
